Before you let your child attend a sleep-away camp this summer, call the head counselor, and find out what protocols are in place to keep staff from taking kids out of their bunks and off the grounds at night.

Do not accept "It doesn't happen here."

Because among the horrible, unforgivable, crimes detailed on lies this unspoken fact: Other members of staff -counslers, division heads, head counselors, etc -must have known that the monster was taking kids out at night. But they looked the other way - for reasons not yet clear.

They must be made to answer for their oversight.
