GWB today awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom today to three men who he said had "made our country more secure and advanced the cause of human liberty": Gen. Tommy R. Franks, George J. Tenet and L. Paul Bremer III.
Said Prez:
"These three men symbolize the nobility of public service, the good character of our country and the good influence of America on the world."
Why do I feel like the only person in the room who gets the joke?
The good influence of America on the world? George Slam Dunk Tenet? This incompetant buerocrat not only played a big part in getting us into the Iraq war but should take a major hit for the intelligence failures that lead up to 9/11. I can only wonder why Ahmed Chalabi wasn't up there too, he is certainly as deserving as these clowns.
Of course, Bush is going to have to create a new Super-Duper Presidential Medal of Freedom for Rumsfeld because his mistakes make these guys look like amateurs.
