Obama's speech nearly bores me to tears.

Meh. That's my one word review of Barry's big speech. It did not soar. It did not inspire. It did not contain Math. There were no argument, no specifics, and he convinced me of nothing. Plus the little snipes at Romney were petty and beneath the dignity of his great office.

He wins his only points for the "citizenship" section of the address. While Romney and that Ayn Rand acolyte of a running mate preach the cult of selfishness, and the lie of self-reliance Obama sees it this way:
But we also believe in something called citizenship - a word at the very heart of our founding, at the very essence of our democracy; the idea that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another, and to future generations.
Dead right. And, it must be said, far more moral than the every-man-for-himself ideas propagated by Richie Romney.
