Why I Hate the Yated, Part 1: Stealing From the Goyim

I thought this post was going to be about the Yated's slavish towing of the GOP line (that will be the subject of another piece), but when I started actually reading the news content of the Yated, it became obvious that something far worse was going on -- outright plagiarism. And I'm not talking about parahprasing a passage here and there. I talking about out and out stealing of entire swaths of AP wire pieces, magazine articles and other content around the internet without any attribution at all. The Yated has recently published various proclamations about the evils of the internet, but without it (and Internet Explorer's cut-and-paste tools), the Yated would be a lot thinner.

An example: Last week's Yated included a long, multi part cover story entitled "9/11 - Five Years After." The article, by "Yitchock Singer," is impressive in scope -- it discusses the search for Bin Ladin, airport security, FBI's anti terror efforts, and the rebuilding process at Ground Zero. However, something is obviously amiss when you actually read through it: how does a Yated reported get quotes from 9/11 memorial designer Mochael Arad or FBI's chief information officer, Zal Azmi? The answer is simple. Cut-and-paste. The sources for each of the sections of the article are indicated below:

The opening section: Remembering 9/11, by Dr. Herbert London

9/11 Commemorative Ceremony In NY: MAYOR BLOOMBERG AND GOVERNOR PATAKI ANNOUNCE PLANS TO COMMEMORATE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SEPTEMBER 11TH ATTACK, LMDC Press Release

If There Was No 9/11: A bit from What If 9/11 Never Happened?, by John Heillman, New York Magazine , and a bit from Five Years Later by Peter Hamill, Smithsonian Magazine

Five Years Later: Are We Any Safer: Five Years After 9/11: Are We Any Safer, Barabara S. Peterson, Conde Nast Traveler

Conspiracy Theories Abound: A bit from this blurb for a book about 9/11, and a bit from Conspiracy theorists just aren't buying 9/11 story, Justin Pope (AP)

The FBI's Powershoue Database Five Years After 9/11: FBI's New Data Warehouse A Powerhouse, CBS News

Hunt For Bin Laden Continues: Pursuit is 'like chasing ghosts', AP

I guess I shouldn't be too upset. They're only Goyim, right?
