President Discusses Marriage Protection Amendment: "America is a free society which limits the role of government in the lives of our citizens. In this country, people are free to choose how they live their lives"
And that -THAT'S- why were trying to ban gay marriage.
Also, have y'all noticed how marriage, the institution, always gets so much more threatened during even numbered years? Not that I want to be cynical or anything, but the last time president Bush made a big speech about gay marriage it was 2004, and his re-election was in serious jeapordy. Now, with the GOP on the skids again, according to most polls, he's pulling out the old chestnut.
I don't expect anyone on the right to actually call foul, but at least acknowledge that you are being played like a cheap fiddle.
