Whoops. Maybe not.
Meanwhile, in other anti-Semitic news, our old friend the infalliable Pope Benedict has asked a panal to decide if a long record of anti-Semitic crazy-talk is enough to disqualify Fr. Leon Dehon from beatification. The story's odd wrinkle is not that the Church again wishes to honor an anti-Semite, but that Benny is thinking of countermanding a decision already made by John Paul II.
JPII, you see, thought Dehon the Jew-hater was a perfectly good candidate for sainthood; Benny thinks it's worth talking about; whereas people with brains, morals and ethics would have tossed the freak out a long, long time ago.
No word yet on this issue from Paul Shaviv, Yakov Menken and the rest of the Papacy's Jewish boosters. We expect their panties are knotted.
