Benefit of Circumscision

A new study seems to indicate that circumcision is hugely beneficial in terms of protecting against HIV infection. From the San Francisco Chronicle:

The study's preliminary results, disclosed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal, showed that circumcision reduced the risk of contracting HIV by 70 percent -- a level of protection far better than the 30 percent risk reduction set as a target for an AIDS vaccine.

Note that I am not claiming that this is the reason for the commandment. It is just, evidently, an amazing benefit.

A new study seems to indicate that intermarriage is hugely beneficial in terms of protecting against Tay Sachs disease. From the San Francisco Chronicle:

The study's preliminary results, disclosed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal, showed that imtermarriage reduced the risk of Tay Sachs babies by 99 percent -- a level of protection far better than the 0 percent risk reduction set as a target for inbreeding.

Note that I am not claiming that this is the reason for the commandment. It is just, evidently, an amazing benefit.

Benefit of Avoiding Mikvaot

A new study seems to indicate avoiding mikvaot is hugely beneficial in terms of protecting against Plantar warts and jock itch. From the San Francisco Chronicle:

The study's preliminary results, disclosed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal, showed that avoiding mikvaot reduced the risk of Planar warts and jock itch by 67 percent -- a level of protection far better than the 0 percent risk reduction set as a target for pretending chareidim shower.

Note that I am not claiming that this is the reason for removing the commandment. It is just, evidently, an amazing benefit.

A new study seems to indicate female circumcision is hugely beneficial in terms of protecting against promiscuity. From the San Francisco Chronicle:

The study's preliminary results, disclosed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal, showed that female circumcision reduced the risk of promiscuity by 92 percent -- a level of protection far better than the 35 percent risk reduction set as a target for shaitels.

The study's preliminary results, disclosed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal, showed that burkahs reduced the risk of skin cancer by 77 percent -- a level of protection far better than the 55 percent risk reduction set as a target for sunblock.

The study's preliminary results, disclosed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal, showed that chrein reduced the risk of stuffy noses by 71 percent -- a level of protection far better than the 54 percent risk reduction set as a target for blowing.
