AddeRabbi has a great post regarding the Rambam's interpretation of the mitzvah "Tamim tihiyeh im Hashem Elokekha." His basic point: it's assur to be a fool. Certainly relevant to the discussion here. But the quote that jumped out at me: Anyone who believes in these and similar things, and thinks to himself that they are real and full of wisdom, but that the Torah prohibited them, is a fool lacking in intelligence, and is in the category of women and children whose intellects are incomplete. I think I will use this one the next time I have an argument with my wife: "But honey, it is mefurash in the Rambam! I win!"
UPDATE: My wife's answer: "nishtanu hateva!!"
