THE MERITS?

Vox Popoli: The merits of anti-semitism

We think he had his tounge in his cheek when he chose the post's title. We think.

But we're not sure, because:
I'd never understood how the medieval kings found it so easy to get the common people to hate the Jews in their midst. But if those medieval Jewish leaders were anything like the idiots running the ADL, the ACLU and the Council of Jews, one can see where the idea of persecuting them would have held some appeal.
What Voxie doesn't understand is this: the midievil kings "found it so easy to get the common people to hate the Jews in their midst" because the church scapegoated the Jews for every thing. Well poisening and ritual murder were early slanders; later the Jews were blamed for (among other church slanders) corrupting the morals of Christians, spreading communism and secularism, and, yes, even in 1910, for ritual murder.

And now, Vox and his right-wing ilk are playing the same game. Bashing the "idiot" ACLU for promoting secularism and for "taking the Christ out of Christmas" and so on, is just today's form of Jew-baiting.

Even the nature of their attack (the Jews are hurting the morals of good Christian folk) is the same as it was in 1880.
