HANUKKAH: MORE FUN THAN CHRISTMAS

That is just one of the fun facts uncovered by InterfaithFamily.com, an organization that recently released a press release trumpeting their December Dilemma Survey.

Other facts from the Holiday Armadillo:
The survey found that Hanukkah is an important holiday for the respondents: 92 percent participated in Hanukkah celebrations last year, while 87 percent of respondents participated in Christmas celebrations, Contrary to popular impressions, Hanukkah is perceived as more fun than Christmas – 82 percent said they enjoyed Hanukkah very much, while only 53 percent said they enjoyed Christmas very much. Perhaps more surprisingly, respondents reported that more children enjoyed Hanukkah very much than did Christmas (79 percent to 69 percent, respectively).
(This is my first encounter with InterfaithFamily.com. According to their website, "InterfaithFamily.com is an independent non-profit publisher and advocacy association that encourages Jewish choices by interfaith families and acceptance of interfaith families by the Jewish community." Hmmm... sounds like a kiruv organization for interfaith families, doesn't it? While, they aren't encouraging you to intermarry, if you have they want you and you family to remain involved in the Jewish community. If the mother in the mix is Jewish, I think that's a great idea. Wonder if it works?)
