Say hello to Havi Mond, Israel's first religious model. She doesn't work on shabbos or Yom Tov, keeps kosher and refuses to pose in lingere or anything especially revealing, yet she doesn't seem to be starving for work. Further proof, I guess, that there's never any real cause to sacrifice your religious principles for money.
If you're good at what you do, people will accept your conditions. And though you've heard me say this before it bears repeating: The fact that Orthodox Jews are able to succeed in any line of work without compromising their cherished beliefs is a triumph of Liberalism.
So next time your boss lets you leave early for Shabbos -or orders you a kosher meal for the staff meeting- without blinking twice, be sure to thank the 19th century liberals who taught the world to accept diversity.
