Is there such a thing as a kiddush Allah?
A Jewish diamond dealer was frantic yesterday, after leaving his diamond-stuffed suitcase in a yellow cab.
"I was in a complete panic," Thierry Delisha said. "I called all the rabbis I know personally in Israel and asked them to pray for me."
Salvation came, not from the rabbis, (who we hope were putting their powers at the service of the poor, the downtrodden and the hungry, and not a careless gem dealer who probably had insurance) but from an Egyptian cabbie named Hossam Abdala who found the case, along with Delisha's business card, and promptly returned the treasure.
"It's the right thing to do," said Abdala, a married father of a 4-year-old girl who immigrated from Egypt in 1997. "I knew I had to find the owner."
