DB--Curious: why are you anti-Hillary? From what I see of your politics (moderate, religiously informed but not fanatical) she seems right in your camp. Is it the hugging-Arafat's-widow thing?
I don't care that she hugged Suhu, especially after Bush walked hand-in-hand with the evil Prince of Saudi Arabia.
I don't think Hillary can win; therefore I don't want her to run. Also, I resent her for running for office from NY. She is not a NYer and didn't belong here.
But the real issues is this: Among GOP-Jews the conventinal wisdom is that Hillary is A, B,and C. I don't think any of that is true, but if she runs, I'll *need* to spend hours and hours beyn gavra l'gavra convincing people that what they think they know about Hillary is really nothing but Republican propoganda.
I don't wish to fight that particular battle.
*A note on *need* Yes, it's a compulsion and an obsession. Some people smoke. Some people stay at their desks until midnight. I run around exploding myths. Trust me. If Hilary stands for Presidency, on a very basic, elemental and emotional level, I'll *need* to fight that battle, and I really don't want to. It's a very selfish reason for hoping she doesn't win the nomination, but there it is.
