A Guest Post By E. Fink
This came across my desk just before Tisha B'Av. It is an interesting follow up to the excellent post and discussion about women in orthodox Judaism.
Mishpacha Magazine ran an article about kiruv with some divrei Torah from an orthodox woman Torah scholar. This was the blurb beneath the article.
It's unclear what the thinking behind this blurb is. It could be read progressively to say, the woman is a scholar and only a scholar can even begin to understand R' Moshe Shapiro's Torah. Alternatively, it could be read that this poor woman is only able to "give over what she understood", that is to say, she missed plenty.
Anyway, I don't have a strong opinion either way. It's interesting to think about and discuss.
