It was a cute bit, but most people in the audience probably had no idea what Jon Stweart and that ugly guy who portrayed Don Draper were talking about as they joked about going around the country looking for nine Jewish men.
Kudos to Jon Hamm, a non-Jew, for understanding the references, however. I guess everyone who spends time in Hollywood gets a little Jewy.
