Fact: George Bush told the media he was immensely satisfied with the job Donald Rumsfeld was doing and that he desperately hoped Rummy would stay on until the end of his Presidency.
Fact: At the time of this remark, George Bush was actively seeking a replacement for Donald Rumsfield. Moreover, the President had already spoken to the Rummy about resigning.
Pardonay Mwah, but didn't we once impeach a president for lying?
Note: I hate to hit Bush when he's down. Now that he's lost Congress and owns an approval rating in the very low 30s whacking on him is a lot less fun. Really, it seems like only the GOP-Jewish bloggers are still bothering to prop him up. Everyone else has jumped ship.
