Congregation Beth Israel is the 100 year old orthodox synagogue that offers the only regular daily minyanim in New Orleans.
Look how close it is to the lake. Worse, it's on Canal Blvd, which is right near the levee breach.
Has anyone heard anything? Is the shul underwater? And is it foolish to even ask, given that the whole city is going to be a ghost town, abandoned, for the next several months at least?
