New Orleans Outrages

Operation Blame the Victims in Full Swing
Michael Chertoff, our homeland security chief, resembles C. Montgomery Burns, the ruthless nuclear power plant owner on "The Simpsons": the gleaming bald head, the bulging eyes, the pointed nose. Now, it seems the simmilarities go deeper:

"The critical thing was to get people out of there before the disaster," [Chertoff] said on NBC's Today program. "Some people chose not to obey that order. That was a mistake on their part."

A mistake on their part? What were dirt poor people - people who have no cars, no credit cards, no money - supposed to do? Swim for it?

And what about the old and the sick? The hospitals and nursing homes weren't evacuated. People on dialysis and oxygen weren't evacuated. And do you know why? Because your president did nothing. Instead, of the government taking charge and providing resources for the evacuation, it was every man for himself, may the strongest survive. And like the personal responsibility freak you are, you're blaming the poor and the sick and the elderly for their own suffering. Moron. Heartless, clueless moron.

All Hail the NRA
I see that the possession of firearms by the citizens of New Orleans has resulted in law and order, just like the NRA said it would.

"The President doesn't get his news from television. He has better sources for his information." - Scott McClellan
Which may explain why President Bush was able to say, on national TV, that:

"I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees."

Incompetant fool. People have worried about this for decades. Maybe you should start reading the newspaper, and watching the TV news? Or at least listen to the damn scientists.

And Meanwhile
Condi shops for shoes.
