As part of his quest to restore honor and dignity to the White House, vp Dick Cheney will headline a $4,200-a-head fundraiser in honor of disgraced Congressperson Tom DeLay this evening.
DeLay and Cheney have much in common. Both men, for example, are guided not by polls, but by principles - principles like self-interest, opportunism, and demagoguery, to be precise - so it doesn't surprise me to learn they'll be appearing on the same stage.
I just hope DeLay remembers to wear his boots.
