Enough people have sent "A trip to Miami" to me (thanks!) that I think its worth a post... only I am not sure what to make of it. To my ear both accent and locution sound legit enough*, but my brain wonders why someone of any race or ethnicity would post a YouTube video about some random poolside encounter and turn it into a gruel-thin lesson. Also, what does the trip to the shoe store have to do with anything?
*I don't mean the story is real, but that I think its probably being told by someone who grew up Hasidic. You can't really fake that, I dont think. But perhaps she's currently a pork-eating atheist having a laugh at the expense of her old way of life. Could be.
