This exact same thing used to happen all the time in my shul

Well, well looky here: Reliable sources tell me that Old Man Joe Klein, and Young Whippersnapper Jamie Kirchick had a go at each other during the vitally significant "Pro-Israel Lobby and the Media" workshop at the Jewish Federations of North America's General Assembly. I'm not sure what they were fighting about, but there were profanities:

A debate between Time's Joe Klein and New Republic's Jamie Kirchick spilled off the dais Tuesday into a hallway confrontation where Klein called the younger pundit a "dishonest [expletive]" and "[expletiving] propagandist."

Reminds me of that time in shul when Old Man Rosenberg got bent out of shape after Young Whippersnapper Ginsburg tried to take the amud for maariv one night wearing a talis, in violation of Old Man Rosenberg's sensibilities, and longstanding shul tradition.
