Masei bores me

The only thing I find interesting about this week's parsha is the annual dispute over when the Torah Reader should switch back and forth between the regular trop (cantillation) and the special-Masei-sing-song (SMSS) which is used when the waystations are read. There's always someone in the congegation who's mortally offended when, in his judgement, the reader does it wrong.

Bonus Fight! Oh baby. Tomorrow is Rosh Chodesh, but its also the Nine Days, so do we say Av Harachamon or not? This may seem like a trivial question to you, but I've seen it cause heated arguments and near fist fights.

"It says in MY siddur we're supposed to say it!"
"Your siddur? Your siddur is ashkenaz, and this here is a sefard minyan! You might as well bring us a raya from the new testament!"
"You crazy Hasidic Sefardim with your two-week old liturgy don't know anything."
"What did you say, Litvak?"
"You heard me!"

etc.
