Toles, ALito and Abortion

As Toles suggests, this is getting stupid. If - as all the evidence suggests - Alito wishes to see Roe overturned, he should be a man, and say so.

[Disclosure: I want Alito confirmed. I want Roe overturned. For many reasons:

1- I want a Right to Privacy Ammendment added to the Constitution. Destroying Roe might finally make it happen.

2 - I want to see the end of the selfish, arrogant, overtly-religious wing of the GOP. For that to happen, moderate, sensible Republicans - like McCain, Whitman and Pataki- must rise up against the preachers, and the the god-drunk pig farmers. Destroying Roe might finally make it happen.

3 - For thirty-years loud mouth Republicans have railed against Roe with no political consequences. If Roe goes, they'll have to put up (by passing anti-abortion lesiglation) or shut up. If they "put up," many will be voted out of office. If they shut up gam zu l'tovah. ]
