Governor Pataki woke up, read the paper, consulted with his advisors and said: "Today's attacks in London are a painful reminder that the war on terror is not over..."
Oh that's right, we still have troops dying over in Iraq and Afghanistan. I forgot. Thanks Gov!
Really, today is a reminder that we are losing the war on terrorism because of the utter incompetence of our president who decided that it would be way cool to avenge his Daddy by starting a second war against Iraq (which we are also losing) while we were still busy fighting the first one.
[Update 6:15 pm: This means that if Bush had faught one war at a time, he would have weakened (and possibly defeated) Al Quada. Instead he took on too much, and failed. It does not mean that Bush is responsible for today's bombing because anger over the invasion of Iraq may have been a proximate reason for the attack on London.]
Update: It may interest you to to learn that Governor George has a son, Teddy, who was recently commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Marines. So is Teddy Pataki, like all good Republican sons, raring to go fight some terrorists? Ha ha. No. Young Teddy is seeking a three-year law school deferment from the Marines. Report:
The governor, who himself received a medical deferment during the Vietnam War because of poor eyesight, has said he hopes his son is granted the deferment. Of course he does. No doubt all the parents of New York's nearly 100 war dead also wish their children could have gotten deferments. But they couldn't. They got killed instead.
