"SHTIBBLE" SUPERSTITIONS

I don't mean to pick on Lazer (Ok, I'm lying) but he makes it so easy for me. Here is today's pear of wisdom from the shtibble: Even if you work full time, make sure your husband eats something of your own cooking every day. That way, you tie his soul to yours. I have never witnessed a divorce in a family where the wife bakes bread for her husband."

He might be right, but this argument is fallacious. (The Post Hoc fallacy to be specific.) It may be that Lazer's never "witnessed a divorce in a family where the wife bakes bread for her husband." but how do we know that the bread baking is the magic force keeping the family together? Maybe the Mister owns a kabbalah string and that's what is keeping the marriage intact? Or maybe (hold on to your hats for this wild theory) Lazer's friends simply love each other? Maybe the bread baking has nothing to do with it?

I don't like superstitions, and the idea that a marriage can be made healthy if a wife cooks for her husbad is a superstition.
